On Monday 26 June, the Year 9 Enterprise Studies students held their annual Market Day.

Set in the amphitheatre, this event provided an opportunity for Enterprise students to gain practical insights into the intricacies of running their own ventures.

During the term, these students will have studied the marketing mix, set SMART goals, and conducted extensive market research to gather valuable feedback from consumers. Market Day became the perfect platform for them to put into practice all that they have learned, and pivot their products to better meet their target market’s demands, resulting in a remarkably productive and fulfilling lunchtime experience.

The success stories of the day were aplenty, with several groups managing to turn a profit. In fact, most of the groups made an average profit of $100 or more.

Market Day showcased a diverse array of culinary delights and refreshments that left no taste bud unsatisfied. From bubble tea, iced green tea latte and donuts to tacos, churros, and Sri Lankan fish cutlets, there was something for everyone to enjoy. As a result, many stalls experienced such high demand on the day that they sold out before the end of lunch, leaving satisfied customers and enthusiastic entrepreneurs in their wake.

The overall experience was highly praised by the students themselves, with one student proclaiming it as their “best day EVER at this school.”

The success of the event would not have been possible without the dedicated guidance and support of Mr Reddy and Ms Daniels, who ensured that the students had an unforgettable and rewarding experience. Their commitment to fostering creativity, initiative, and teamwork among their students deserves special recognition.
