On Friday the 1st of March, the Golf Open Tournament was held at Whitford Park Golf Club. The tournament doubled as a fundraiser, with all profits going towards the Macleans Sports Faculty. Future projects with these funds will include a Golf Academy, a cricket training facility, international football trips, and an all-weather multisport space.

27 teams of 4 competed in an 18-hole, 4-ball ambrose format, and the players included a variety of the current Macleans golf team, Macleans alumni, staff, and sponsors of the school.

Prizes were awarded to the team Rand Rescue (Overall Event Winner), Year 12 Kupe student Leo Isobe (Nearest the Pin), Auckland badminton player Rhona Bramwell (Longest Drive in the Female Division), and Year 12 Mansfield student Paul Horyna (Longest Drive in the Male Division).

The Macleans premier golf team has been doing well in their 9 hole competitions and is composed of Cherry Lee (Batten), Samuel Ding (Upham), Paul Horyna (Mansfield), and Lucia Lee (Hillary). However, their season is far from over with many tournaments yet to come in Term 2.

A special thank you to Team Tina for sponsoring most of the event and Marbled Delicatessen and Butchery for providing the barbeque lunch.
